About me
Shivakumar Mathapathi is an Adjunct Faculty member at UC San Diego Extension, Northeastern University (Silicon Valley), and Ohlone College, where he teaches advanced courses on internet of things, Industrial IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and emerging technologies. He also serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Xtrans Solutions, a company focused on developing innovative AI and IoT-based solutions. With over three decades of experience in both academia and industry, Shivakumar is a recognized expert in smart sensing, automation, and applied AI. He has led numerous projects that bridge academic research with industrial applications in healthcare, smart cities, automotive, and manufacturing. Known for his engaging, hands-on teaching style, Shivakumar frequently speaks at international conferences and workshops, offering deep insights into the integration of next-generation AI and sensor technologies. His work continues to inspire professionals, students, and researchers exploring the future of intelligent systems.
Recently he co-authored workshop 303 at the SIGCSE 24 – Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) conference, highlighting innovative strategies for integrating hardware within software-focused curriculum. He is also mentoring few research programs in collaboration with Next Generation Internet Transatlantic Fellowship Program supported by European Commission.
