Nick Chen is a Principal Software Engineer at Blecon, specialising in embedded Linux and UX. Nick has over 15 years of experience in embedded systems and IoT during a career that has spanned roles in research, engineering and product.
After receiving a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, Nick was a researcher at Microsoft Research where he created new user interfaces and interactions for networks of wireless sensors and displays. Nick then played a pivotal role in turning Azure Sphere, Microsoft’s secured OS for IoT devices, from research prototype to product. Nick spent extended amounts of time embedded in electronics factories as part of this effort, gaining unique insights into large-scale device manufacturing.
Beyond his industry contributions, Nick is also a dedicated educator at the University of Cambridge, teaching and supervising students in the areas of Networks, Graphics, and Electronics.
