About me
Hiroshi Miyajima, PhD, Fellow, ICT Division of Sumitomo Precision Products Co., Ltd. (SPP), helps to drive business development at MEMS Infinity, the MEMS foundry division of SPP, which that company launched in 2023 to provide MEMS commercialization services to a global audience.
Prior to joining SPP in 2021, Dr. Miyajima served as a MEMS technology expert at Goertek Technology Japan. He also enjoyed a successful thirty-one-year career at Olympus Corporation, Tokyo, where he developed optical MEMS devices, including MEMS optical scanners for the confocal laser scanning microscopes used in the Olympus LEXT series. Dr. Miyajima has academic experience as well. While a visiting research scholar at Case Western Reserve University from 1992-1994, he developed high-aspect-ratio photolithography process in Professor Mehran Mehregany’s research group.
Dr. Miyajima is actively involved in the international conference, IEEE MEMS, where he served on the technical program committee in 2003, 2023 and 2024.
He earned his MS and PhD in precision machinery engineering at the University of Tokyo.
