Sensors Converge 2025

Explores the complexities of sensor testing and the physical limitations encountered in the process. It delves into minimum absolute pressures, vacuum challenges, and high-pressure fluid compressibility. The discussion includes using suitable reference sources and the range limits and costs associated with automated pressure calibrators and manual deadweights. It also addresses sensor limitations such as adiabatic effects and drift in devices under test (DUTs) and system limitations like reproducibility, ambient conditions, and atmospheric pressure noise. Additionally, it covers compliance verification, both short-term and long-term, focusing on metrological parameters, zero drift, span drift, and linearity drift.

The session will describe the availability of much higher accuracy MEMs inertial sensor platforms which will lead to the development of a new standard for health care, medical and sports performance related applications.  Examples of these new applications will be highlighted.
